HMS Belfast served the Royal Navy during the Second World War,it played a leading part in the action against the battle cruiser Scharnhorst, and also in the Normandy Landings in France. It stayed in service with the Royal Navy until 1965.HMS Belfast was moored near Tower Bridge as a souvenir for Britain in 1971 as a unique remembrance of Britain’s naval prowess.
